Women's Equality Day

Hello NWPC CA Members, Supporters, and Allies,

Happy Women’s Equality Day! What an exciting month it has been! Since I last wrote to all of you, our very own Kamala Harris has become the Democratic nominee, and NWPC National was quick to endorse her campaign. We are energized & excited by the outpouring of civic engagement. At NWPC CA, we want to do all we can to facilitate and keep up the momentum as we sprint toward election day this November.

We have lots of ways for you to get involved & engaged this election cycle:

  • Stay tuned for an online presentation and discussion this September on all of the ways you can get involved this election cycle hosted by me and Angelica Ramos-Allen, our VP of External Relations

  • Join us this fall as we team up with our endorsed candidates to help them GOTV by canvassing and phone-banking

  • Meet up with us virtually to phone-bank for the Kamala Harris campaign

  • Come to an NWPC event in your area-Our Pasadena caucus is hosting an event on 9/06 and our new VP of Membership, Tammy Khan, is hosting an event in the South Bay on 10/06

We look forward to seeing you virtually and in-person this fall as we work to elect our pro-choice endorsed candidates up and down the ballot. Stay tuned for our voter guide as we are hard at work interviewing candidates for endorsement! Thank you for all you’re doing in your own communities. And do reach out for ways we can collaborate and amplify one another’s amazing work.

As always, please reach out if you have ideas you’d like to share, events we should be joining, ways we can collaborate and coalition-build, or anything else. I can be reached at president@nwpc.org

I look forward to hearing from you, and as Michelle Obama said, let's DO SOMETHING!

With gratitude,
Sabrina Ashjian

Women's Equality Day is celebrated in the United States on August 26 to commemorate the 1920 adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which prohibits the states and the federal government from denying the right to vote to citizens of the United States on the basis of sex.

Make History with us

The Democratic National Committee Convention wrapped up last week with Vice President Harris formally accepting the nomination, making history as the first ever woman of color as the presidential nominee of a major party. We are so proud that California's very own Kamala Harris is taking up the mantle.

Donations are critical in moments like these. Campaigns cannot function without our support. We've set up an NWPC specific link to donate to the Harris Victory Fund through. Please note that things have moved very quickly and you might see Joe Biden's name in parts of the site. Rest assured that all donations made by clicking the photo below will go directly to Kamala Harris's campaign.

Harris Victory Fund is also happy to accept donations via check and can be made out to "Harris Victory Fund" and can be sent to this address:
